An early morning all terrain vehicle collision on the Tribag Mine Road in Batchawana has sent one Sault Ste Marie man to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto.

Sault Ste Marie OPP, Batchawana Fire and Rescue and an air ambulance were called to the area at about 8:00 a.m. yesterday morning. The man was riding on his ATV when he rode over a small ridge beside the roadway. His ATV rolled over throwing him from the machine.

A Ministry of Health air ambulance was called to the scene and transported the injured man to Sault and Area Hospitals. The man was stabilized and immediately transferred, by air ambulance, to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto.

Twenty-four year old Christopher Burk, of Sault Ste Marie, remains in Sunnybrook Hospital with serious back injuries. The collision remains under investigation by Sault Ste Marie OPP.
