MAN FOUND INJURED IN BUSH IDENTIFIED Heyden, Ont., The 35-year-old man found in the bush with sever head injuries yesterday has been identified as Henry Johnston of Highway 17 in Heyden. At about 11:30 a.m. yesterday, O.P.P.
MAN FOUND INJURED IN BUSH IDENTIFIED
Heyden, Ont.,

The 35-year-old man found in the bush with sever head injuries yesterday has been identified as Henry Johnston of Highway 17 in Heyden.

At about 11:30 a.m. yesterday, O.P.P. and ambulance personnel were called to the area after a neighbour found the man laying in a small bush area that separates two houses on Hwy 17 in Heyden. The victim was taken to Sault and Area Hospital by ambulance. He has since been transferred to hospital in Sudbury where he remains in critical condition

Police believe that the victim may have been lying outside for an extended period of time. In addition to severe head injuries, he is also being treated for hypothermia. Members of the Sault Ste. Marie O.P.P. Crime Unit and the Forensic Identification Unit have been called in to assist in this investigation.

The O.P.P. Criminal Investigation Branch in Orillia has assigned Detective Inspector Scott Tod to oversee the investigation. He arrived late yesterday evening.


MINOR INJURIES IN TWO VEHICLE COLLISION
Heyden, Ont.,

Sault Ste Marie OPP were called to Hwy 17 In Heyden yesterday after a two vehicle collision near the Heyden Esso.

At about 2:30 p.m. a van pulled out of the Esso parking lot into the path of a northbound car.

The driver of the van indicated that he didn’t see the car and struck the side of the vehicle. The driver of the van, thirty five year old Donald Charrette of Heyden, has been charged with Failing to Yield contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The driver of the car did complain of a minor injury to his arm but did not need medical treatment.


FIRE DESTROYS ATV
Searchmont, Ont.,

A fire on the Whitman Dam Road north of Searchmont destroyed an All Terrain Vehicle.

Yesterday at about 2:00 p.m. the ATV broke down about on a trail about seven kilometers off the Whitman Dam Road. His hunting partner towed it back to Whitman Dam Road. When they stopped at Whitman Dam Road the ATV caught fire. They had no way to put it out and the fire consumed the vehicle.
