Suspicious Phone Call Leads to Arrest At approximately 11:27 a.m. on Friday morning police were advised by a woman who had received two unusually cryptic phone calls from her daughter who would not or could not say where she was.
Suspicious Phone Call Leads to Arrest

At approximately 11:27 a.m. on Friday morning police were advised by a woman who had received two unusually cryptic phone calls from her daughter who would not or could not say where she was. These phone call led the complainant to believe that her daughter was being held against her will. A check of the phone number by *69 revealed a Searchmont address. Sault Ste Marie detachment officers attended the residence and arrested Donald Ernest Hore age 24 of Manitoulin Island on a outstanding Warrant for assault. Subsequent investigation revealed the woman was not being held against her will. Hore was returned to Manitoulin OPP and will appear in Sudbury Bail court on Monday.



Counterfeit $20.00 surfaces in Elliot Lake

Elliot Lake, Ont.

On the 29th of September police attended a local restaurant regarding a possible counterfeit $20.00.

Investigation revealed that the bill bearing serial # AYV6447284 was indeed counterfeit.

Investigation continuing.

Youth Charged After School Incident

Elliot Lake, Ont.

On September 27, 2006 police received a complaint of a possible assault at a local high school in Elliot Lake. The complainant/victim reported being assaulted by a male youth while attending classes. One incident allegedly occurred during last period and continued in the schoolyard after school.

Investigation revealed that the suspect had used two weapons during the assault, one being a pencil and the other a knife. The victim received minor injuries during the assaults.

A 16-year-old male has been arrested and charged with the following:

Assault with a Weapon X2 and Assault

The name of the accused will not be released under the jurisdiction of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on November 7th, 2006.

Residence on Mississauga Ave Victim of Break and Entr

Elliot Lake, Ont.

On September 29th, 2006 police received a call to attend a local residence regarding a break and enter. The residence, which is located on Mississauga Ave, was broken into sometime during the day between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Unknown culprit(s) entered the residence and took an undisclosed amount of money and jewellery.

Anyone with information regarding the above break and enter is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-705-942-7867 Or 1-800-222-8477.

Investigation continuing.
