A weekend disturbance at a Goulais River home has resulted in a drug charge against a Goulais River man.

Police were called to the home on Saturday evening to assist in a disturbance at the house. While sorting out the details of the disturbance officers noticed a bag of drugs on the kitchen table. The drugs were seized by the police and one man was taken to jail for the night.

44-year-old Stephen Jackson of Goulais River faces one charge of Possession of Marijuana and will appear in court in December.

Sault Ste Marie OPP had to close Hwy 17 north of Sault Ste Marie on Saturday night because of weather conditions and vehicles stuck on a steep hill.
