FRIDAY NGHT COLLISION SENDS THREE TEENS TO HOSPITAL

A single vehicle collision on Calabogie Rd in Laird Twp on Friday night sent three area teens to hospital with various injuries

At about 11:30 p.m. the vehicle was traveling on Calabogie Rd when the driver lost control and it rolled four times. Three of the five teenage occupants were transported to Sault Area Hospital where they were treated for a variety of injuries ranging from minor to major injuries. A forth occupant also received minor injuries but did not require medical treatment.

The lure of the winter weather and a sunny day must have been just too much for some Heyden area youths.

On Saturday at about 4:00 p.m. Sault Ste Marie OPP received a call that there were several kids throwing rocks through the ice on Heyden Lake and that some of the kids were standing on the ice.
