The Batchewana First Nation Police are investigating a stabbing over the weekend.

On Saturday morning at about 5:30 a.m., police were called to a home on the Territory after a male arrived at his house covered in blood. The investigation has revealed that two men were walking home at about 5:30 in the morning when a group of about seven to nine youths attacked the two. Residents in the area heard the screams and called the police.

When nearby residents awoke, the group of youths fled the area. The victim was stabbed in the arm and hand. He was transported to Sault Area Hospital where he required 12 stitches to close the wounds. The second man was assaulted but did not require medical treatment. Both victims are in their early twenty's.

Police have several suspects in this stabbing but no arrests have been made. The investigation is still ongoing and the motive for the attack has not been discovered


BREAK AND ENTERS
Goulais River, Ont.,

Sault Ste. Marie O.P.P. is investigating another break and enter in the Four Seasons Drive area of Goulais River.

Over the weekend police were called to a seasonal home in the area after the front door was found kicked in. It appears that nothing was removed from the house.

The O.P.P. was also called to a home in Shetland Park in the Heyden area. On Saturday, May 24, it was discovered that someone had entered the home and stole camera equipment, electronics, tools and prescription drugs.

BREAK AND ENTER TO THESSALON L.C.B.O.
(Thessalon, Ontario) On May 21 at approximately 11:00 p.m. the East Algoma - Thessalon O.P.P. received a call from the Provincial Communication Center located in North Bay regarding a Break and Enter in progress at the Liquor Control Board Store in Thessalon.

Two officers responded and observed one male running from the scene. He matched the description of the person breaking into the store. The officers arrested two males that were allegedly involved in the break and enter.

A search warrant was executed on an apartment on Thursday May 22. The approximate value of the liquor stolen in the break and enter was $1600.00. The value of the liquor recovered as a result of the search warrant was $1417.70.

Before the search warrant could be executed on May 22, 2003, three individuals from the apartment surrendered.

Charged is Randall Lee Senecal, age 28 of Thessalon. He is charged with Break and Enter, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Failure to Comply with Undertaking or Recognizance.

Also charged is Joshua Jason Nitschkie, age 22 of Thessalon. He is charged with Break and Enter and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

Rachelle Ann Marion, age 27 of Blind River and Dustin David Bigras, age 18 of Thessalon, were charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

Senecal has been held for a bail hearing on Monday May 26, 2003. Nitschkie, Marion, and Bigras were released on a Promise to Appear in Thessalon Court on June 26, 2003.
