(Bruce Mines, Ontario) Between September 2004 and April 2005, several Break and Enters have occurred in the Bruce Mines area.

On Friday April 29, 2005 the East Algoma – Thessalon OPP laid break and enter charges on four Young Persons and one Adult.

The East Algoma OPP are continuing their investigation.

Firearms Taken In Break & Enter

On Monday the 25th April 05 at 9:52 pm Manitoulin OPP received a call from an owner of a residence who resides on Orr’s Side Road in Sheguiandah. The owner reports that he was away for the weekend and upon return he noticed that his gun safe and contents were removed from the house. Inside the gun cabinet were four registered long guns and one shotgun. Manitoulin OPP arrived and began their investigation, there was no forced entry into the residence and it would have taken at least two people to remove the large gun cabinet. The guns have been put on the Canadian Police Information Computer (CPIC) system as stolen. OPP are asking for the public’s assistance that if anyone has any knowledge about this crime they are asked to call police or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Break & Enter at Island Tent & Trailer Park

On Friday 29th April 05 at 9:51 am Manitoulin OPP received a call from the owner of Mike’s Park in Kagawong who reports where they attended the park to start in opening procedures they noticed that the lock to the garage had been cut and inside a 9.9 Yamaha Outboard motor had been stolen. Also three family trailers had been entered however it appears that preliminary investigation shows that nothing was taken from these trailers. Police are continuing their investigation into the break & enter and are asking the public if anyone has any knowledge to call police or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Police Seeking Owner of Television

(Blind River, Ont.) Shortly after midnight (Sunday) Police observed a man on Leacock St in Blind River on a bicycle carrying a T.V. Further investigation into the mans suspicious activity led Police to believe that the T.V. was stolen.
The male party would not divulge where he acquired the Television.

Anyone that is looking after anyone’s property is asked to do a residence check to ascertain if there was a break in.
