Pollari Missing Person Investigation Reopened

(Hilton Township, Ont.) The East Algoma O.P.P. in conjunction with the Criminal Investigation Branch are revisiting the Justin J. Pollari missing person investigation.

Pollari (14 years old at the time of his disappearance) was reported missing on December 9th 2001. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, hooded sweatshirt carrying a black backpack and a skateboard. Justin was described as 5”10’’, 150 lbs, blue eyes and blond hair in a “Mohawk” hairstyle. A photograph of Pollari is available on Crimealerts.net under Blind River Detachment.

Officers will be conducting ground searches of the area where he was last seen based on numerous interviews that were conducted following his disappearance. Although investigators have followed up on numerous alleged sightings since his disappearance police are still appealing to the public for assistance in this investigation.

The case has been reassigned to the Criminal Investigation Branch of the O.P.P. with assistance from criminal Investigators from East Algoma and Sault Ste. Marie. The Forensic Identification Unit from Sault Ste. Marie and Emergency Response team members have been and will be conducting interviews, searching the grounds and the house on St. Joseph’s Island where Pollari went missing.
Detective Inspector John Horne is leading this reinvestigation.

Charges Laid In Echo Bay Disputes

Echo Bay, Ont., Three teenagers and a 27 year old man were charged after confrontations in Echo Bay early Saturday morning.

At about 3:00 a.m. on Saturday morning an Echo Bay man was awakened after a rock was thrown at the window of his apartment. When he looked out he saw a group of youths standing on the corner. The man exited his apartment and the youths fled the scene.

He caught up to two of the youths and a confrontation took place. As a result of the confrontation the 27 year old was charged with assault causing bodily harm. Three teenagers ranging in age from 17 to 19 were also charged under with various offences under the Liquor Licence Act of Ontario.

Later on Saturday, at about 1:00 p.m., another Echo Bay resident called police and advise that sometime during the night his garden had been purposely trampled.

Stolen Vehicle Recoveered

Harmony Beach, Ont., OPP in Sault Ste Marie are trying to determine who is responsible for the theft and destruction of a stolen vehicle from the Harmony Beach area.

Sometime in the early morning hours of Saturday 13 May 2005 a 2002 Mazda was stolen from the side of Hwy 17, at a seasonal home, in the Harmony Beach area.

Later on Saturday, at about 4:00 p.m., the vehicle was located in a gravel pit in the Goulais River area. It appears that the culprits deliberately drove the vehicle around the gravel pit deliberately smashing up the car. No arrests have been made in this case.
