BUS DRIVER GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND
Garden River, Ont.,

A greyhound bus driver had a nerve racking experience with one of his passengers last night.

At about 10:00 p.m., a passenger on a Greyhound bus requested to get off the bus at an unscheduled site. The driver sensed that there was something unusual with the passenger and accommodated the passengers request.

The passenger got off the bus and immediately ran toward an oncoming tractor trailer unit. This person's behavior immediately became totally irrational and the bus driver feared for the life of this person. The male then attempted to enter another car passing by on the highway but the female driver sped away.

The man was walking down the middle of Hwy 17 acting in a irrational manner. The bus driver tried to stop all traffic in the area so the man would not get hurt or killed. Members of the Garden River Anishinabek Police Service and the OPP arrived and took the man into custody. He was taken to Sault and Area Hospital were he was admitted for psychiatric treatment.

DISAGREEMENT LEADS TO ASSAULT AND DOG BITE
Batchawana, Ont.,

A verbal disagreement early this morning has lead to a Batchawana woman charged with assaulting her spouse and a dog attacking her.

Around 1:00 a.m. this morning the couple were out for a ride in their vehicle. A verbal disagreement in the car quickly escalated to the woman striking the man several times.

When they arrived back at their Batchawana home the woman continued to assault the man. Unfortunately, there was a large dog also living at the house. Upon seeing the man being assaulted, the dog attacked the woman and bit her twice in the upper body. She was transported to Sault and Area Hospital by ambulance for treatment of the dog bites.

As a result of this investigation, the 40-year-old Batchawana woman has been charged with assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She will appear in court in June to answer to the charge.
