Save Yourself Some Aggravation...Just Lock It!

The Batchewana First Nation Police are investigating a report of people going through unlocked vehicles over the weekend.

On Saturday night at about 11:30 p.m. officers were called to the parking lot of the Rankin Arena. A worker at the arena noticed three youths near a vehicle. Two appeared to be hiding behind the vehicle and one was actually in the car. The youths fled the scene when they realize their criminal activity had been discovered.

Members of the Batchewana First Nation Police are asking everyone to remember to lock your vehicle regardless of where you are. The simple action or remembering to lock you vehicle will save you the aggravation of losing any valuables you may have left in your vehicle.

Does Illegal Drug Use Really Affect Your Brain?

Laird Twp, Ont.,

A White River man learned the hard way the perhaps using drugs may actually have an adverse effect on your brain.

Last night at about 8:00 p.m. an officer with the Sault Ste Marie Detachment was following a car on Hwy 17 in Laird Twp. As the officer was following the vehicle the driver took the ashtray out of his car and dumped it on the highway.

The officer pulled the car over. A search of the vehicle revealed about 5 grams of a suspected cannabis product. The officer couldn’t help but wonder what was in the ashtray.

Twenty year old Luc Steven AUDET of White River has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. Hopefully when he returns to Sault Ste Marie for court in June he will remember to clean his car out before leaving home.
