Prohibited Driver Charged Blind River, Ont.) On Friday 04 Mar 05 at around 4:00 p.m. and officer form East Algoma O.P.P. saw a person, whom he recognized, operating a Motor vehicle. The officer believed that the person was a suspended driver.
Prohibited Driver Charged

Blind River, Ont.) On Friday 04 Mar 05 at around 4:00 p.m. and officer form East Algoma O.P.P. saw a person, whom he recognized, operating a Motor vehicle. The officer believed that the person was a suspended driver.

While attempting to stop the vehicle the driver abandoned the truck and was leaving the area on foot when the officer summoned him. A computer check revealed that the person had been prohibited from driving Under the Criminal Code.

Charged with Driving While Prohibited and breach of Probation is:

31-year-old Michael Setchell of Queen St. Blind River.

Setchell is to appear in Court in Blind River on 07 Apr.05

Vehicle Theft

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On March 5th, 2005 at approximately 2:00 a.m. while police were on general patrol a van was spotted in a snow bank on Hillside Drive North. Officers spoke with the alleged driver and noted signs of impairment.

While officers were speaking with the driver, a call was received from the registered owner of the vehicle in question reporting his vehicle had been stolen.

Charged with the following is Annette DENIS (31) of Elliot Lake.

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
Impaired Driving of a Motor Vehicle
Failure to Provide Breath Sample
Theft Over $5,000 of a Motor Vehicle.

DENIS is scheduled to appear in court on April 5th, 2005.

Vehicle Mischief Complaint

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) Police are currently investigating a mischief report. The complainant reports that sometime on March 3rd, 2005 when the vehicle was parked in the lot of A.J.’s Bus Lines on Timber Road unknown person(s) pour a liquid substance in the gas tank of the truck.

Investigation continuing.
