R.I.D.E. CHECKS FINDS REPEAT SUSPENDED DRIVER
Sault Ste Marie, Ont.,

A weekend R.I.D.E. check by members of the Sault Ste. Marie O.P.P. detachment located a driver who was previously charged by the same officer at the checkpoint.

On Friday night at about 10:00 p.m. officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. check on Hwy 17 at the east city limits. A vehicle approached the check and the officer recognized the driver as a person he had charged for driving under suspension in the past. When the driver was questioned she admitted to still being suspended.

She was charged, again, for driving under suspension and another licenced driver in the car was allowed to drive the vehicle. Twenty-nine-year-old Patricia MacKinnon of Thessalon will appear in Sault Ste. Marie court in late April to answer to the charge.

HAVILLAND BREAK AND ENTER
Goulais River, Ont.,

Sault Ste. Marie O.P.P. is investigating a break and enter to a seasonal home in the Havilland Bay area.

Sometime over the winter, thieves entered the home and shed in the Havilland Bay area and stole an outboard motor. The culprits also damaged the window and door of the home in their efforts to gain entry to the house.
