Theft (Elliot Lake, Ont.) On June 4th, 2006 at 10:19 p.m. police received a call to attend a local convenience call regarding a possible robbery.

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On June 4th, 2006 at 10:19 p.m. police received a call to attend a local convenience call regarding a possible robbery.

On scene police learned that an unknown male entered the Hillside Shop and Save in Elliot Lake and reached over the counter attempting to open a cash register. The suspect was unsuccessful in opening the register but did remove a spare cash till with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then fled the store on foot. Witnesses were unharmed and no weapon was used. Destination of the suspect is also unknown.

Safe Kids Week

.) The East Algoma OPP, the Elliot Lake Safe Community the Coalition, Early Years Coalition and with sponsor support from Johnson & Johnson, are hosting bike rodeos to promote bicycle safety during this years Safe Kids Week.

Safe Kids Week is an exciting national education campaign presented by Safe Kids Canada. 2006 is the 10th anniversary of the Safe Kids Week campaign in Canada and the main goal of the 2006 campaign is to raise awareness and change attitudes about the unacceptable burden of preventable injury for Canadian children.

Bicycle rodeos will be held at all elementary schools in Elliot Lake. Schedule is as follows:

The suspect is described as follows:

- Male, Caucasian
- 37 to 38 years of age
- Well tanned, moustache
- Deep voice
- Camouflage jacket, camouflage shorts
