Batchawana First Nation, Ont., One man was taken to Sault and area Hospital by ambulance on the weekend after a dog ran out in front of his motorcycle

On Sunday 26 June at about 6:30 p.m. the man was riding his motorcycle on Old Garden River Road on the Batchawana First Nation Territory. A dog ran in front of the motorcycle and the operator of the bike lost control and slid on the roadway. He was taken to Sault and Area Hospital with numerous cuts and scrapes as well as a suspected broken foot. The Batchawana First Nation Police are still investigating this collision.


Marine Patrol Charges Eleven

Goulais Bay, Ont., A joint marine patrol with the OPP Traffic and Marine Unit and MNR Conservation Officers produced eleven drinking charges over the weekend.

Officers were on marine patrol of Goulais Bay and Harmony Bay on Saturday. Eleven people, all from the Sault Ste Marie and surrounding area, were charged with various drinking offences. The fines for the various liquor offences ranged from $125.00 to $215.00.

The following people will now have a decision to pay the respective fines or plead their case in court:
