ECHO BAY MAN CHARGED WITH THEFT OF CATTLE

As a result of an investigation conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police into the disappearance of two cattle from an Echo Bay farmer’s field back in March of 2003, one local man has been charged with two counts of Theft of Cattle contrary to Section 338(1)(a)of the Criminal Code of Canada. Charged is Daniel Briand of Cemetery Road in Laird Township.
The cattle were identified through DNA testing. The testing was conducted by an independent laboratory, Maxxam Analytics, in Guelph Ontario. The cattle were seized and returned to the rightful owner.
