(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The OPP is currently investigating the theft of a snow mobile. On January 7th, 2006 at approximately 5:00 p.m. the victim parked his trailer with his 1982 Black Ski Doo Everest at the Dunlop Boat Launch. Upon his return at 9:30 p.m. the owner discovered the snow mobile missing and the trailer still in place.

The sled has the following registration # 458211 on the cowling.

Anyone with information regarding the above theft is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-705-942-7867 or 1-800-222-8477.

IT’S OFF TO BAIL COURT FOR THIS IMPAIRED DRIVER

Garden River First Nation, Ont., A Toronto man will appear in Sault Ste Marie bail court this morning after being arrested for Impaired Driving over the weekend.

On Saturday 07 January 2006 at about 8:30 p.m. OPP were advised of a vehicle headed west on Hwy 17 near the St Joseph’s Island turnoff. Police were advised that the vehicle was all over the roadway and narrowly missed hitting a bus.

OPP officer’s located the vehicle traveling on Hwy 17 in the Garden River First Nation. The car was pulled over and the driver arrested for a drinking and driving offence

Forty six year old Janusz LEWANDOWSKI of Mississauga Ontario has been charged with Driving While Over the Legal Limit of .08 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was also charged with Driving While Under Suspension and Driving While Having Open Liquor Available. He will appear in bail court this morning.


GOULAIS RIVER BREAK AND ENTER

Goulais River, Ont., Police are investigating a break and enter into a seasonal home in Goulais River over the weekend.

Sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning a side door on a home on Goulais Mission Road was forced open. A search of the home by the caretaker was conducted and he was unable to find anything missing.

NEW ATV STOLEN IN LAIRD TOWNSHIP

Laird Township, Ont., Sault Ste Marie OPP were called to a home on Finn’s Bay Road over the weekend after the owner of the house discovered that his new ATV had been stolen overnight.

Sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning thieves took the new four wheeled ATV from beside the man’s home.

Stolen is a red 2005 Suzuki four wheeled ATV. The value of the machine is over $10,000.00.
