SNOWMACHINE OPERATORS TRESSPASSING
Sault Ste Marie, Ont.,

Sault Ste Marie OPP investigated several complaints over the weekend of snow machine operators trespassing on private property.

The complaints were received from all over the O.P.P. patrol area and there appeared to be no particular area that was identified as a continual problem.

O.P.P. would ask everyone who operates snow machines to show some consideration for property owners and other people's property. Police have the option of charging snow machine operators under the Motorized Snow Vehicle Act or the Trespass to Property Act if you are caught on someone else's property without their permission.

If all snow machine operators stay on the groomed trails, you will have no problem trying to determine if and when you are on someone else's property.
