ASSAULT ON CHILD LANDS AREA MAN IN BAIL COURT
Laird Twp, Ont.,

An assault on 10-year-old boy has resulted in a Laird Twp. man being charged with assault

On Saturday, the child and his mother went to the Sault and Area Hospital to have the boy seen by medical staff. As a result of that examination, police were notified and went to the hospital to see the mother and child.

The investigation has revealed the sometime last Thursday an adult male living in the same house as the boy, pick the boy up and threw him across the room.

Over the weekend the thirty-four-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault. He is being held in custody and will appear in Sault Ste. Marie bail court today.

Officials with Sault Ste. Marie O.P.P., the Ministry of Transportation and Sault Ste Marie Great Northern Road McDonald’s will be at that McDonald’s location today to launch a winter traffic safety program.

The three organizations have joined forces again this year to launch a winter traffic safety campaign using helpful information on tray liners. Today from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Officials from all three organizations will be on hand to officially launch the campaign.

Join us today between 11:00 and 1:00 o’clock for a McDonald’s lunch and help all three of us promote winter driving safety.
