The O.P.P. Traffic and Marie Unit based out of Sault Ste Marie O.P.P. detachment had a productive night this weekend.

On Saturday night and into Sunday morning the Traffic and Marine Unit set up joint R.I.D.E. checks with the Sault Ste Marie City Police at the Canada Customs Plaza and at other locations in the city.

In a three hour span the officers of the unit issued four 12-hour drivers licence suspensions and one woman was charged with a drinking and driving offence.

Nineteen-year-old Jinelle Pingatore, of Brimley Michigan, was charged with operating an vehicle while having a blood alcohol level over .08.
