(North East Region) The Ontario Provincial Police are pleading with the public to drive safely today and take all the necessary precautions on the waterways. This weekend has been particularly devastating for several families with several serious and fatal collisions and a drowning in North East Region.
Collisions can be avoided by abstaining from alcohol, ensuring that before setting out your driver has had enough sleep or stopping if he/she becomes tired. Patience will be required today, as the volume of traffic will peak and weekend warriors will be anxious to get home.
With the seasonal weather, boaters and swimmers will be taking advantage of the day. Please don’t drink and boat, use the safety equipment and be aware of dangerous swimming areas.
