FATAL PLANE CRASH There was a fatal air accident yesterday at 5:00 p.m. that has claimed the life of the pilot, 64-year-old Marcel LaFleur, of Timmins. The crash occurred at the Opeepeesway River in Genoa Township. The South Porcupine O.P.P.
FATAL PLANE CRASH
There was a fatal air accident yesterday at 5:00 p.m. that has claimed the life of the pilot, 64-year-old Marcel LaFleur, of Timmins. The crash occurred at the Opeepeesway River in Genoa Township.

The South Porcupine O.P.P., with assistance from a MNR helicopter, Trenton Search and Rescue, and a Sudbury Air Ambulance crew, are on the scene. Preliminary reports indicate that Mr. LaFleur left Timmins in his float plane, a 172 Cessna, and was on his way to Horwood Lake when the crash occurred.

The O.P.P. and Transport Canada have begun an investigation.
