BOATS AT MARINA ROBBED (Blind River, Ont.) – On Friday night sometime after 11 p.m. thieves went to the Blind River Marina and helped themselves to thousands of dollars of gear from seven boats that were docked there.

(Blind River, Ont.) – On Friday night sometime after 11 p.m. thieves went to the Blind River Marina and helped themselves to thousands of dollars of gear from seven boats that were docked there.

Police received a call on Saturday morning that there was some fishing gear missing from a boat.

When they investigated further, they discovered that seven boats had been entered and items stolen.

The property stolen included liquor, fishing tackle, hand-held electronics, binoculars, camera equipment and miscellaneous boating equipment.

Police have totalled the value to be in the neighbourhood of $15,000 thus far.

On Saturday evening someone had released a 60-foot section of dock from the marina.

It was found floating near the entrance to Blind River harbour and was retrieved by Marina staff.

CAR THIEVES ACTIVE ON WEEKEND
(Blind River, Ont.) - Two vehicles were stolen from a local garage on Friday night or early Saturday morning.

Just after 8 a.m. on Saturday morning East Algoma O.P.P. received a call of a vehicle in a ditch on Highway 557.

Upon investigation it was discovered that a 1995 Toyota Tercel had been left a local garage for servicing and was stolen from that location.

Over $1000 damage had been done to the vehicle.
