Break and Enter Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church Garden River First Nation

Some time between Sunday the 13th of August and Sunday the 20th of August thieves broke into the Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church on Hwy #17 on the Garden River First Nation. The thieves removed a large floor safe from the church. The safe contained a small quantity of money but more importantly historical ledgers dating back over 100 years. These ledger list the names of this historical church’s parishioners. There was no obvious signs of forced entry into the church and the only other item taken was a oil candle taken from the sanctuary.

Police are asking the persons responsible to return the ledgers due to their historical significance to the church community.
