ONE MALE CHARGED FOR DISTURBANCE (Elliot Lake, Ont.) On Saturday, August 12th, 2006 at approximately 1:44 a.m. the East Algoma OPP attended the area of Quebec Rd and Hillside Dr North regarding a disturbance.
ONE MALE CHARGED FOR DISTURBANCE

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On Saturday, August 12th, 2006 at approximately 1:44 a.m. the East Algoma OPP attended the area of Quebec Rd and Hillside Dr North regarding a disturbance. On scene one male was arrested and charged.

Charged with the following is Marc Joseph VALLIERES (33) of Bonfield Twp, Ontario:

Assault
Assault Police
Obstruct Police
Mischief Under $5,000

VALLIERES is scheduled to appear in court on October 3rd, 2006.

Break and Enter Maple Lake

A cottage and outbuildings located on Maple Lake Deroshe Township was entered some time between August 6th and 12th. Suspects took a canoe belonging to the owner and paddled across the lake to the cottage. The cottage , barn and outbuilding was entered and searched. Nothing was stolen. The suspects left on foot, indicating knowledge of the area.

RIDE Checks Result in a Charge

Sault Ste Marie Traffic and Marine Unit conducted Joint RIDE with the APS, Batchawana FN Police and Sault Ste Marie OPP on Hwy # 17 in Garden River this weekend. In excess of 200 vehicles were checked on Saturday and Sunday Morning. Lionel Chaput age 51 of Frontenac St. Sault Ste Marie has been charged with Driving over the legal limit contrary to section 253(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada. Mr. Chaput will appear in Provincial Court Criminal Division in Sault Ste Marie on September 18th.

UPDATE ON ARSON INVESTIGATION

The East Algoma OPP had issued a warrant in January 2006 for the arrest of:

John Robin PERDUE 19Jul63 of No Fixed Address

PERDUE had been charged with the following;

Assault
Arson – Damage to Property
Arson – Disregard for Human Life
Utter Threats to Burn Property


**UPDATE**

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) Friday, August 11, 2006 officers of the East Algoma OPP attended Medicine Hat, Alberta and arrested John Robin Perdue. PERDUE remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing in Sault Ste Marie on August 14, 2006.
