The Sault detachment of the O.P.P. is investigating two separate break and enters that occurred last night. Sometime between the 5th of August and last night, thieves gained entry into a residence on Highway 552 by an unlocked rear window. They removed stereo equipment, over 40 CDs, a satellite dish and other items valued at over $1,000.

Officers responded to an alarm at the Stop Market in Rupert Acres early this morning. Thieves had gained entry to the store by prying off the front metal cage to the door and removing the dead bolt. The suspects fled the scene empty handed.


SWERVED TO MISS DEER
At 10:45 p.m. yesterday, police responded to a single vehicle accident on the Ranmger Lake Road. The male driver from the Sault swerved to miss a deer and ended up rolling the vehicle. No injuries were reported.


NEWLY WEDS IN ACCIDENT
At 2:50 this morning, officers responded to reports of a vehicle in the ditch near the Haviland Shores Drive turnoff. A newly wed couple from Sudbury was travelling northbound on Highway 17 when the female driver swerved to miss a moose. The vehicle ended up in the ditch. There was little damage and no injuries.
