Sudden Death In White River At about 6:45 p.m. this evening (Saturday, April 15th) an OPP officer observed an individual matching the description of Jason Bernard Logan, age 32, walking along Winnipeg Street in White River.

At about 6:45 p.m. this evening (Saturday, April 15th) an OPP officer observed an individual matching the description of Jason Bernard Logan, age 32, walking along Winnipeg Street in White River. Logan was wanted on a Canada Wide Arrest Warrant and has been the subject of an intensive police search in the Wawa, White River area earlier this week.

When approached by police, the man fled and a short foot pursuit ensued. The subject climbed between the cars of a stopped train and was located by police deceased with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Because a death occurred during the apprehension of a subject the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) has been notified and will be investigating. Further inquires should be directed SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342

Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision

(Warren, Ont)-Warren OPP advised that they are presently investigating a double fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 just west of Hagar.

The collision was a head on which involved 3 motor vehicles. Highway 17 west of Hagar is still closed. A detour has been set up thru Markstay to Ratter Lake Road. Heavy vehicles are advised to use Highway 69 as a detour if on the west side of the accident scene.

No names have been released yet as next-of-kin has not be notified.

The Ontario Provincial Police Technical Traffic Collision Unit and Identification Unit are presently investigation. Charges are pending.
