A houseguest of a Goulais River resident is suspected in the theft of jewellery and prescription medicines from the house.

The suspect was picked up hitchhiking north two days ago. She was allowed to stay at a Goulais River home for the past two days. The owner of the home left the house yesterday and when he came home he discovered that a quantity of jewellery along with some of his prescription medicine as well as his houseguest were gone.

The suspect was seen early yesterday morning on Hwy 17 at Hwy 552 hitchhiking north. She is described as short with blonde hair and in her early forty's. She is carrying a white kitten that is about 12 weeks old. If you see this hitchhiker in the area Sault Ste Marie OPP would like to speak to her.
