Impaired

When you are a child you quickly learn that if you are going to be doing something bad it is best that you not do it in front of you parents. Now that you are an adult it is also best that if you are going to do something bad you not do it in front of the police. The consequences of the bad act, in both cases, will be dealt with immediately and both child and adult are left wondering ‘what was I thinking’ while facing the about to be imposed penalties.

An unmarked O.P.P. cruiser was traveling north on Highway 17 in Tupper Township when it happened upon another northbound vehicle. The vehicle was being operated in such a manner that the officer suspected that in all probability the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The officer stopped the vehicle and on speaking to the driver all suspicions were confirmed.

Mall Parking Lot Stop Signs

Have you ever traveled through the parking areas of major malls in our community? Have you noticed the stop signs erected in an effort to control the movement of vehicles? Have you noticed the close calls when some motorist have failed to obey those stop signs? Have you failed to obey those stop signs? Do you think that since you are on private property you will not get a ticket?
Oops?

Major mall parking lots are now subject to the rules and regulations as set out in the Highway Traffic Act. Ignoring those stop signs or driving in an aggressive or careless manner will draw the attention of my colleagues. That is attention best avoided.
