ATV Rider faces Charges Batchawana, Ont.,An early morning ATV ride on Hwy 17 has resulted in charges against an 18 year old Batchawana man. This morning at about 3:00 a.m.
ATV Rider faces Charges

Batchawana, Ont.,An early morning ATV ride on Hwy 17 has resulted in charges against an 18 year old Batchawana man.

This morning at about 3:00 a.m. officers with the Sault Ste Marie OPP were traveling on Hwy 17 in Batchawana when a ATV passed them, on Hwy 17, going in the opposite direction. Officers turned around and caught up to the driver as he entered a motel room in Batchawana.

The officers detected signs that the man had been drinking and he was returned to the city for breathalyzer tests. As a result of this investigation 18 year old Daniel RIED of Batchawana now faces an Impaired Driving charge. Mr. Ried was also charged under the Off Road Vehicle Act with not wearing a helmet. In addition to these charges he also had his drivers licence suspended for 90 days pursuant to the Automatic Drivers Licence Suspension program in Ontario.
