TRANSPORT COLLISION SENDS ONE TO HOSPITAL

A collision involving a transport and a deer on Hwy 17 near Pancake Bay sent one person to hospital yesterday.

At about 8:30 a.m. yesterday morning a transport was northbound on Hwy 17 about 2 kms north of the Pancake River bridge. The driver of the truck swerved to avoid a deer in the middle of the roadway. The truck went into the ditch, and struck a hydro pole.

A passenger, who was sleeping in the berth of the truck, was transported to Sault and Area Hospital by ambulance and treated for minor injuries.

No charges were laid in this collision
