Sault Ste Marie OPP are investigating two break and enters in the outskirts of the
Echo Bay area.

In the first break and enter, the culprits entered home on Cloudy Lake Road and rummaged through the cupboards and drawers in the home. The interior walls in some of the rooms were extensively damaged. At this time the only thing that the owners can find missing is some liquor.

The second break and enter happened on Echo Lake Road. A property owner discovered that the shed had been entered and an outboard motor has been stolen.

OPP would like to remind everyone to call the police if they see anyone or anything in their neighbourhood that appears to be suspicious. When you see something that causes you some suspicion, stick with your intuitions because they are usually correct. Make detailed notes on the person or vehicle and call the police right away

Impaired Driver Apprehended With Aid of Citizen Witnesses

(St Joseph Twp. Richards Landing, Ont.) East Algoma O.P.P. received a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically in the village of Richards Landing. The vehicle was seen driving all over the road and went into the Legion parking lot in Richards Landing.

When Police arrived on the scene they observed the pickup truck in the lot parked in a very haphazard fashion. They confirmed the registered owner and when a man attempted to re-enter the truck, after being refused service, Police noted that he was very unsteady on his feet and was exhibiting signs of having consumed alcohol to the point of being impaired. When Police checked the vehicle they also seized an open part bottle of an alcoholic beverage.

Charged with having Care or Control of a motor vehicle while ability was impaired under the Criminal Code and having open bottle of liquor while having care or control of a motor vehicle under the Liquor licence Act of Ontario is:
