(Iroquois Falls, ON) On the 27th of May 2005, a joint investigation conducted by members Project Northern Gateway (an O.P.P. Drug Enforcement Section lead initiative), and members of the Iroquois Falls Detachment of the O.P.P., resulted in the execution of a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a Marion Street residence in the Town of Iroquois Falls. As a result of the search of the home, police dismantled and seized a cannabis marijuana grow operation, cannabis marijuana plants, a quantity of cannabis marijuana, as well as a firearm. The drugs seized have a potential street value of approximately $10,050.00. The offence related property seized has a value of approximately $1200.00. Charged is Michel GRENIER , 36.

ATV Ride Might End Up Costing $600

Heyden, Ont., An ATV rider and the owner of the ATV have been charged after the rider was found operating on the Highway.

Sault Ste Marie OPP have been receiving an increasing number of ATV complaints all through the Heyden area. Complaints ranged from trespassing on private property, speeding, and erratic driving on the ATV’s.

OPP patrol officers found a 17 year old operating an ATV on the highway in Heyden. A check of the operator found that he had no licence to operate the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the owner of the ATV allowed the vehicle to be operated knowing that the operator had no licence.

Seventeen year old Heyden youth was charged with Drive motor vehicle with no licence. The owner of the ATV, a 48 year old Heyden man has been charged with Permit unlicensed person to drive motor vehicle. If convicted, they could faces a fine of $325.00 for driving with no licence. The owner could face a of $255.00 for allowing the ATV to be operated knowing that the operator had no licence.
