TIME FOR “THAT” TALK WITH YOUR KIDS Sault Ste Marie, Ont.
TIME FOR “THAT” TALK WITH YOUR KIDS
Sault Ste Marie, Ont.,

With a weekend of warm daytime weather and a combination of rain and drizzle most of this weekend, today is the day to take that extra five minutes to warn all the young and carefree kids of all ages of the annual dangers of fast moving open water all through this area.

The area where your child played in last weekend may just be this weekend’s open creek, flooded ditch or dangerous ice conditions. The minds and imaginations of younger children do not comprehend the danger that the fast moving, ice cold water may have in store for them.

Usually adults realize the dangers that the newly opened rivers, lakes and streams pose to the young and curious. Our children view the same river, lake or stream as a new and novel play area.

Know where your children are at all times and whom they are with. Just one slip or one fall into the ice cold waters may prove to be fatal. Take time to talk to your young ones and remind them that nature can be both beautiful but dangerous.
