BREACH OF COURT ORDER LANDS YOUTH BACK IN JAIL
Batchawana First Nation, Ont.,

Sault Ste. Marie O.P.P. arrested and returned a 15-year-old girl back to jail because of attitude shown toward her parent.

At about 9:00.p.m. last night O.P.P. were called to a home on the Batchawana First Nation after the girl would not abide by the mothers wishes and the rules of the home.

A Deferred Custody and Supervision Order under the new Youth Criminal Justice Act bound the youth. These orders stipulate certain rules that a convicted youth must abide by. The mom had enough of the girl's errant behavior and called the police.

Under the conditions of the order if the youth does not abide the condition the police can return them to a Youth Detention facility. She was arrested and returned to a detention facility in Sault Ste. Marie.
