Goulais Man Headed To Bail Court Goulais River, Ont., A Goulais River man will make an appearance in bail court today after assaulting his wife early this morning. At about 2:30 a.m. this morning police were called to a home in Goulais River.

Goulais River, Ont., A Goulais River man will make an appearance in bail court today after assaulting his wife early this morning.

At about 2:30 a.m. this morning police were called to a home in Goulais River. The investigation has indicated that a woman was punched in the head at least twice. A thirty two year old Goulais River man has been arrested for assault and is being held in police holding cells until his court appearance this morning.

Bear Patrol In Rupert Acres

Heyden, Ont., Sault Ste Marie OPP were called to the Rupert Acres Plaza yesterday morning after a bear cub was seen wandering near a bus stop.

At about 8:00 a.m. yesterday morning the bear cub was seen in the general area of Rupert Acres Plaza and a school bus stop at the plaza. Officers from Sault OPP stayed in the area until all the school buses had pick up the children and left the area. The M.N.R. were notified of the sighting.

Break and Enter Second Time in a Week

Batchawana First Nation, Ont.,Officers with the Batchawana First Nation Police and Sault Ste Marie OPP are on the scene of break and enter to a gas bar on the Batchawana First Nation territory just east of Sault Ste Marie.

For the second time this week a combined gas bar and variety store on Frontenac Street on the Batchawana First Nation Territory was broken into. Sometime around
2:30 a.m. this morning officers responded to an alarm at the store to discover that thieves had entered the business and a left with a quantity of merchandise. The owner and police are still at the scene taking inventory and investigating.
