HITCHHIKERS CHARGED WITH BREAKING INTO COTTAGES
Over the past several days the Sault detachment of the O.P.P. has been investigating a number of thefts and cottage break-ins.

Edward Gentle, age 20, and Malachi Clarkson, age 18 from southern Ontario, have been charged with three counts of break and enter as a result of cottage break-ins in Tupper Township and one cottage on Sailboat Island.

They have also been charged with two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000 when discovered with a camera and a jacket reported stolen, and one count of mischief as a result of damage done to the Sailboat Island property.

Both men are in custody pending a bail hearing today.

Police say these crimes were solved due to the diligence of local citizens calling with information on the suspicious activities of the suspects.
