IT MUST BE SOMETHING IN THE AIR AT THAT ALTITUDE

Searchmont, Ont., Sault Ste Marie OPP were called to the Searchmont resort yesterday to investigate
a complaint of damage to one of the chair lifts. As if the recent rash of unusually warm weather hasn’t caused enough aggravation to the operators of the resort, now senseless vandals have taken to damaging newly installed equipment at Searchmont Ski Resort.

The resort installed new chairs and cushions on one of the lifts and the operators are now finding damage to the new chairs. The resort advised the police that during night skiing sessions, that some of the patrons are removing cushions off the new ski lift chairs, damaging the cushions and throwing the cushions in the bush while the lift is in motion. So far the resort estimates that forty out of ninety new chairs have been damaged.

If you are a skier or snow boarder who does value a comfortable lift to the top of the hill, and you see anyone damaging the lifts please notify anyone at the Searchmont Ski Resort, Sault Ste Marie OPP or Crime Stoppers.
