Sault Ste Marie OPP are investigating damage to ten separate homes in the Heyden area after they were shot with a paint ball gun.

Sometime during the darkened hours of Wednesday night and Thursday morning someone on a snow machine traveled the Heyden area randomly shooting at homes with a paintball gun. Officers discovered seven homes in the Pioneer Trailer Park as well as homes on Hiltz Road and Trout Lake Road had been shot at. In one circumstance the siding on one home was broken by the shot. All other homeowners had to try to clean the paint off their homes.

Pick Up Hits Elk In Laird Township

Officers with the Sault OPP Detachment responded to a collision last night involving a pick up truck and an Elk last night east of Sault Ste Marie.

At about 10: 30 p.m. last night a pick up truck was eastbound on Hwy 17 near Neebish Road. The vehicle struck an Elk that was crossing the highway. The truck had major damage and had to be towed from the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured.
