SEARCH CONTINUES FOR MISSING SAULT STE MARIE MAN

The search for thirty year old Stacy Lucian Dilenardi of Sault Ste Marie continues this morning.

Mr. Dilenardi was reported missing to the Sault Ste Marie Police Service. His family last heard him from on 28 November 2005. Late Wednesday night his vehicle was located on a bush road just outside the city limits in Duncan Twp by a trapper. The vehicle appears to have been disabled by a mechanical problem and could not be driven any further. Duncan Twp is just northeast of the Sault Ste Marie City limits and north of the Garden River First Nation Territory.

Yesterday searches from the OPP Emergency Response Team and Sault Search and Rescue covered about 110 kms of bush trail with all terrain vehicles. An extensive ground search was done in the area where Mr. Dilenardi’s vehicle was located. The OPP helicopter arrived in the area yesterday morning and spent the day searching in the area.

Today about 30 searchers, two canine units and the OPP helicopter will return to the area to continue the search.

Police are encouraging the public to keep observation for Mr. Dilenardi. Police believe that it was possible for Mr. Dilenardi to walk out of the Duncan Twp and Connor Road area. His photograph has been distributed to the media by the Sault Ste Marie City Police.
