Assault Investigation (Elliot Lake, Ont.) On Thursday, August 18th, 2005 at approximately 8:54 p.m. police received a call to attend the local hospital in Elliot Lake in regards to a possible assault.

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On Thursday, August 18th, 2005 at approximately 8:54 p.m. police received a call to attend the local hospital in Elliot Lake in regards to a possible assault.

Investigation revealed that a young female was at the hospital being treated for injuries sustained during an assault. The alleged assault occurred in a bush trail between Dieppe Avenue and Hillside Drive North in Elliot Lake. Four females allegedly contacted the victim and made arrangements to meet. The suspects then “jumped” the victim and began physically punching, kicking, and beating her with a stick.

Police have charged four (4) females that cannot be named under the authority of the Youth Criminal Justice Act with the following;

 14 year old & 15 year old female with Assault and Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence
 13 year old female with Assault, Assault with a Weapon and Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence
 17 year old female with Assault, Assault with A Weapon, Utter Threat To Cause Death or Bodily Harm and Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence

All youth are scheduled to appear in court on October 10th, 2005.

The victim was treated for her injuries and later released.

Investigation continuing.

Jewelry Stolen From Residence

(Thessalon, Ont.) On August 18, 2005 the OPP attended a residence on Lakeside Drive in Thessalon in regards to a possible break and enter.

Investigation revealed that something between August 14, 2005 and August 18th, 2005 unknown person(s) stole jewelry and a wallet from the residence. Value of the jewelry taken is approximately $16,110.00.
