Break, Enter & Theft Public Assistance Required

(Massey) – Espanola OPP officers responded to a break, enter and theft incident on August 17th, 2006 at 4:00 a.m. at Shank’s Freshmart located on Sable Street, Massey, ON.

Unknown males used a baseball bat to smash the glass of the store’s front door.

One of the males then entered the store and stole several packages of cigarettes. This male is described as being muscular, “hefty”, with dark hair in a pony tail. The male then left the scene in a vehicle described as a mid-size, white, sedan car with four or five other teenage male suspects.

Officers have recovered some evidence and are continuing their investigation but are requesting assistance from the public in identifying these suspects. If anyone has any information about this break, enter & theft, please call Espanola OPP at
1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-461-4899. If your tip leads to an arrest you may be eligible for a cash reward. You will never have to give your name or testify in court and Crime Stoppers doesn’t have call display.

Train Derailment in Wabos

The O.P.P. would like to advise the public of a road closure due to an ACR train derailment. Shields Road in Wabos is blocked off due to two train engines that have derailed. There are no injuries reported and a clean up crew has been dispatched to the scene to take care of a small diesel spill.
