While parents Vacation Trouble Ensues

Goulais River, Ont., Two separate calls to the police last night has lead to charges against a Sault Ste Marie woman.

This morning, just after midnight, Sault Ste Marie OPP received a call of a Mustang that came off of Buttermilk Hill Road and onto Hwy 17 in a manner that lead the complainant to believe that someone was chasing the driver or they were running away from something. About half an hour later OPP received a call from a home on Robertson Lake Road that visitors to the home had stolen cash and jewellery from the house. The description of the vehicle the suspects were driving matched the description of the Mustang.

The Sault Ste Marie City Police located the car and the driver in the parking lot of a Sault Ste Marie Hotel. A quantity of cash and jewellery, matching the same description that was stolen from the house were found in the vehicle.

The City police took two people into custody various offences. Both the suspects and the complaints involved are in their late teens and early twenties. It was learned the parents of the complainants, who own the house and the jewelry, are away on a trip. The stolen property is being held by police until the parents come home and are able to positively identify the jewellery.
