$5000 Missing After Batchewana Break & Enter

The Batchewana First Nation Police are continuing their investigation into the break and enter at a native craft store on Frontenac Street.

Sometime during Tuesday night and Wednesday morning thieves forced their way into the store stealing native arts and craft and ransacking the business.

An inventory conducted by the owners of the store revealed that close to $5000.00 in merchandise has been stolen from the business. The list of stolen property includes clothing, feather cases, gloves and mitts, belts and belt buckles. One of the more distinguished items stolen was a traditional ceremonial drum commonly used at pow wow’s. The patterns of the clothing are unique to this area. Some of the stolen items have the “Trails End” symbol on the items. If you know where these thieves are storing their loot call the Batchewana First Nation Police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crimes Stoppers at 942-7867.
