The Batchawana First Nation Police recovered a vehicle stolen from a convenience store in Sault Ste Marie.

This morning at about 1:30 a.m. the Sault Ste Marie City Police advised the OPP of a stolen vehicle from a store in the city. Several minutes later an officer with the Batchawana First Nation Police spotted the vehicle traveling east on lower McNabb Street. The officer turned around and the vehicle increased speed and turned onto nearby side streets.

The vehicle was located in a ditch on Anna Street in the city. Officers with the Sault Ste Marie City Police, the OPP and the Batchawana First Nation Police searched the area for the suspect but he was not located.

This investigation is continuing.
