Elliot Lake man dies in ATV rollover

An Elliot Lake man was pronounced dead at the scene of an all-terrain vehicle rollover the night before Christmas.

Philip Nowiski, 55 years of age, was killed in the collision.

It occurred at about 8 p.m. in a remote location near Gullbeak Lake just outside Elliot Lake says a spokesperson for the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

OPP and the Algoma Paramedic Services responded to the collision which is still under investigation under the direction of the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OCC-OFPS). A post mortem examination will take place.
