Driver clocked at more than 80 km/h over speed limit near Bruce Mines

A news release issued today by the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reports that a 25-year-old driver from Milton, Ont. was clocked travelling more than 170 km/h in a 90 km/h zone on Highway 17 near Bruce Mines.

OPP initiated a traffic on Saturday morning near the junction of Highway 17 and Duff Road.

Austin Litt stands charged with driving a motor vehicle at an excessive speed, contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused had their vehicle impounded and driver's licence suspended for seven days.

Litt is scheduled for a court appearance in Sault Ste. Marie on Nov. 18.
