A 57-year-old from West Nipissing is facing weapons charges following the execution of a search warrant at a cabin outside of Sault Ste. Marie on Wednesday.
A search resulted in police seizing 12 firearms in addition to some other items at the cabin, which was located on Garden Lake in Hurlburt Township.
Mary Senchuk was arrested and has been charged with :
- trafficking in firearm, weapon, device or ammunition, contrary to section 99 of the Criminal Code (CC)
- transfer firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon without authority, contrary to section 101 of the CC
The Chief Firearms Office was also involved in the investigation.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court in Sault Ste Marie in March.
