ATV operator killed in Blind River crash

An ATV crash in Blind River on Thursday has left a 62-year-old dead.

Shortly after 10 a.m., officers with the East Algoma detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police along with members of Algoma Paramedic Services responded to the crash on Astles Road.

The 62-year-old operator of the ATV was taken to hospital in Espanola with life-threatening injuries and later died.

The OPP's Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team (TIME) and the Office of the Chief Corner for Ontario - Ontario Forensic Pathology Service are also a part of the ongoing investigation.
