Six-year-old girl drowns during house party in Oshawa, Ont.: police

Police say a six-year-old girl drowned during a large house party in Oshawa, Ont., last night.

Investigators say they were called to a home around 7 p.m. on reports of a large gathering.

They say when officers arrived, they learned a young girl was missing.

Police say officers searched the property and found the child in the pool.

They say emergency crews performed CPR at the scene before the girl was taken to hospital, where she died.

Police say the investigation is ongoing, and are urging residents to exercise "extreme care" when it comes to water safety.
