MONTREAL — Quebec reported 104 new COVID-19 cases and six new deaths linked to the virus on Saturday.
It's the first time authorities have reported more than 100 new infections since Aug. 12, when they reported the same number of cases as Saturday.
Health Minister Christian Dube said in a tweet that it marked a fourth day in a row that infections have gone up in the province.
"Let's remain careful," Dube wrote.
The province has now reported 61,599 COVID-19 infections and 5,739 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic — the hardest hit province in Canada.
The province has reported 54,576 people as having recovered.
Of the new deaths, two were reported in the past 24 hours, three occurred between Aug. 15 and Aug. 20, and one dated back before Aug. 15.
The province's Health Department said the number of hospitalizations dropped to 124, a reduction of 12 patients from the previous day.
Of those, 16 patients remain in intensive care, seven fewer than a day earlier.
The province also conducted 15,950 tests on Thursday, the last day for which results were available.
